Privacy
You can use the site without registering. The site uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools. Registration is optional and only serves to save your preferences to your account.
What stays on your device
The site saves a few preferences in your browser (localStorage): language, cards or table view, the chosen analysis tab, and the list of places you mark as "already visited". This data stays on your device only, is not sent to us, and you can delete it from your browser settings.
Account (optional)
If you register, we process your email, the list of places you mark as favourite or already visited, and the personal notes you write. The purpose is to save them and make them available on several devices. The legal basis is your consent, given when you register. We do not sell or pass this data to third parties for commercial purposes.
- You sign in with a link sent by email (through the site's email delivery service) or with Google; in that case Google processes your request under its own privacy policy.
- After signing in, your browser keeps a session token (localStorage, not cookies). When you sign out, the token and the favourites and visited places saved in the browser are removed from the device.
- We keep the data until you delete the account.
- From the Account menu you can download your data and delete the account with all its data. For other requests write to chriskesslerph@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Third-party services
To work, the page loads content from external services. As with any web request, these services receive your IP address and technical browser data:
- Vercel: hosts the site and keeps technical access logs.
- Supabase: hosts the destination data the page reads and, if you register, your account and the data you save.
- Wikimedia Commons: provides the photographs.
- flagcdn.com: provides the flags.
- OpenStreetMap: provides the map tiles.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare): provides the map library (Leaflet).
- OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org): provides the map tiles when a map is opened; it receives your IP address and the area shown, with no cookies and no registration. If the browser cannot render the vector map, OpenStreetMap is used instead.
Links to external sites (flights, accommodation, rentals, activities) lead to services with their own privacy policies.
